The Case Study

The corpse of an elderly caucasian woman was found dead in her flat in the third floor of an old urban building on November 6th, 1995. The body was discoloured and the skin was found to be partly detached. Police said that there were lots of adult flies and a little bit of maggots were observed on the corpse.   Maggots were reported squeezing themselves through a bathroom partition wall made of plaster and collecting under a mat near the balcony. The investigators then collected evidence from the maggots and discovered that the caucasian woman was poisoned. These maggots helped the investigators know how she died and the time of death she had. A few days later, they were able to get a prime suspect and they ended up finding the killer as he confessed to killing the woman. The maggots and the adult flies helped the investigators solve the crime just in time.
