How Bugs are used to Solve Crimes

Ever wondered how bugs are used to solve crimes? Well, look no further. The Forensic Entomology is mostly used for calculating the time of death. Fly larvae, once developed and are about to go onto the adult stage, abandon the dead body because their predators are around. This is why, by the time a crime is investigated, there may be no insect larvae. But there may be other insects in the area which can also provide clues. Some bugs can also be used to see if the body was poisoned, because the maggots or larvae would eat the body and at the same time, they would eat the poison in the body. If we know the poison from the body, then we can tell how the body died and when the body died. Also, in some rare cases, the bugs can even be used as the murder weapon. For example, a murderer can trap a woman in a room full of wasps and the wasps would sting her to death. Or, a murderer can stick a kid in a room full of ants. So, bugs can tell us alot about the body and it can definitely help us solve the crime.
